Strolling down Marylebone High Street

Marylebone High Street is a shopping street running between Oxford Street and Marylebone Road. It is famous for its mix of boutiques and small retailers. It is a peaceful and elegant street located just off the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street and surrounds.

The northern end of Marylebone High Street is a short walk from Baker Street Station and Regents Park. Along the High Street are a number of interesting bars, pubs and restaurants including Orrery, a classic French restaurant, Coco Momo, a chic and pleasant cafè bar, alongside many others.

If you're in the mood for shopping, there are plenty of small boutiques and interesting shops along the high street. Daunt Books is a great Edwardian bookshop where you can get lost between the pages for hours with their interesting range.

Property on Marylebone High Street is fairly pricey, due to its very central location (W1), and the general niceness of the area. In recent years, the property prices on Marylebone High Street and surrounding areas have soared as the area has become trendy and hip, and the area is frequented by celebrities (I once spotted Kate Moss and Pete Doherty at the local bar!).

Marylebone High Street was voted best street in London by listeners of BBC Radio 4, winning praise for its being "a haven in the middle of the frantic city".

If you have the money, and are looking for a upmarket place to live in Central London, Marylebone High Street should be right near the top of your list.
