Awww, so cute! I never knew I wanted a pet owl until this little guy became an international celebrity. Which brand are you wearing??! He’s defintely a moody influencer.

Except aren’t we missing the other part of this story? The part that we all know and read countless times is that this little guy was discovered ‘clinging’ inside the scraggly Rockerfeller Centre Christmas tree for 2020. He became a sensation, is now recovering in rehab to be released back into the wild soon. Except I don’t image he will be saying thanks since the tree he was clinging to was probably his home and now he is miles away from his family.

This tree and this story just sums up our throwaway culture and positive spin on a reckless act. Real Christmas trees are gorgeous, nostalgic and romantic except they are meant to be sourced responsibly. If there are wild birds living in them can we hypothesise that trees soucred from that forrest are probably not a good idea?

Yes, he is still cute though.
