Facial mask tried & tested picks

Facial masks are ideal now that we are locked down for days on end. I don’t know about you but I hardly ever had time to do them but now that time is abundent I’m reaching for my favourite face masks.

When is the best time for a facial mask, before bed or first thing in the morning? Some beauty experts advise hydrating masks are best in the morning and exfoliating or clarifying masks are best at night, however, I’m more of an evening masker as I prefer to get ready and stuck into work in the morning. During the evening on the other hand I can relax with a facial mask, scented candle and a good book or listen to a podcast.

I love all the facial masks below and have listed them cheapest to most expensive but these are products I have used and love.

Innisfree sheet mask £2.90

Innisfree is a fabulous Korean beauty brand that I first discovered during a work trip to Delhi. The brand is quite big in India with their own stores in premium locations, however, in the UK I have only been able to buy products from this brand online. The quality is fantastic, the products work and the price is fabulous.

The Vitamin C brightening serum cotton sheet mask is super. Oozing with serum, once I have drenched my face, neck and decolletage in the serum there is usually plenty left to rub all over my hands and soak in the goodness. This is the best £2.90 you’ll ever spend on a beauty product, even Carmex lip balm costs more. Buy it online here.

Innisfree volcanic clay mask for pores £17

For those who are interested in reducing visible pores, the Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mask is excellent and this is more of a utilitarian mask that is good morning or evening. Used in the morning, your make up will glide over your glowing face, use it in the evenging before bed to reduce pimples and blocked pores. You can buy it here.

Origins Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay £24

I love the Origins brand and have recommended their tinted moisturiser in Pop Magazine but I also love their pretty-in-pink rose clay mask. Rose has natural anti inflammatory properties and I simply love the scent. Your face will look and feel velvety smoothe, buy it here.

Nini Organics Miracle Mask £35

This gorgeous powder face mask is made using entirely natural and organic ingredients. It is good for all skins but particularly for acne prone skin, which I don’t have. Nini Organics founder, Alex is my friend and his brand is incredibly authentic. Although more expensive, this face mask lasts for ages and you have the flexibility of mixing the powder mix with a liquid of your choice: rose water, yoghurt, almond milk, honey, crushed avocado, you pick! Watch Alex’s videos for information and tips. You can buy the mask here.
