Sustainable fashion for beginners: It's not easy being green

It’s not easy being green, so sang the most famous frog on the planet.

If you started the new decade feeling overwhelmed by all the news of doom about the environment and on-going catastrophes you’re not alone.

The fashion industry undoubtedly needs to clean up and we, Pop, operate as one of the industry’s little clean up ants. Our company is small and independent and the task aghead is huge but we are experts in sustainable sourcing. There are many mixed messages from the media, celebrites and our friends about the best way to be sustainable. The truth is that there is no one way that is the best solution but over the next few months we will post videos and articles with the aim of helping you make informed choices.

Sustainable fashion includes clothing:

  • produced from biodegradable, natural material

  • durable or artificial material

  • recycled material

  • upcycled material

  • clothing from charity shops

  • clothes swaps

  • clothes rental

  • vintage fashion

  • independent fashion

  • clothes sourced and produced locally

  • clothes produced abroad from wastage at source

  • clothes fasting

Depending upon your lifestyle and as circumstances change you could use a combination of ways to be more sustainable. Customers come to our boutique and tell us about their confusion and feeling that they have to stick to one method, you don’t!

We left the comments open below, please get in touch either in the comments section, email or call us if you have any questions about sustainable fashion, a particular Pop style or style advice.

We care about helping you and are here for you.
