Our favourite Aesop products

I have worked near the Aesop shop in Holborn for years - it is the best shop to work near for last minute gifts, especially for gay men. When the shop opened in Hamsptead, it was heavenly. Far better to treat myself to a handcream instead of a freshly baked almond croissant on the way to the tube.

Aesop is famous for its luxurious smelling products and we love the clinical apothecary packaging.

I recommend any of the hand washes ( Resurrection or Reverence) and I would encourage you not to just save them for guests. Aesop is a bit pricey but like all decent products, a little goes a long way and it’s sad to save luxurious products for guests only.

I got the Resurrection handcream at Christmas and it is still going strong, yours for £21. I buy this one product as soon as I am running low as I can’t bear not to have it. The smell is exquisite and I would say that it’s perfect for winter months but I am still using it now as we are all washing our hands more than usual and my hands are thirsty for the moisture. My mate who is the most manliest men of all men, even cuts his own hair to show he doesn’t care about his appearance (and boy, is that obvious to everyone he meets) goes crazy about this handcream and I am pretty certain he only comes into my office to use it.

Next up is the Fabulous Face Oil, £40. My partner got this to soften his beard so I didn’t look like a red raw pig after kissing him. Well, less of a red raw pig than usual. He has had it for over a year now and it’s still going strong so don’t be put off by the price. I am now helping him to finish the bottle and it is as fabulous as described. The oil just sinks into my dehydrated skin and gives such an incredible glow, I am hooked. Once again, it’s the smell that does it for me, so luxurious made with juniper berries and jasmine petals it instantly makes me feel, well, fabulous. I’ve heard good things about the cleanser too but I am so loyal to Eve Lom that I haven’t tried that yet.

Last of our top recommendations is the fragrance, Tacit. £85 for a bottle you can share with anyone (if you are so inclined), it is really perfect to get you to the winter months with basil and citrus notes. To be honest, I have worn this through the winter months too as citrus notes are perfect at any time of year. There are other fragrances by Aesop too, but this is the best one.

Enjoy !
